The Grants to Voluntary Bodies Committee – Minutes

A meeting of the Grants to Voluntary Bodies Committee was held on Tuesday 8th October 2013 at 7.30pm in the Council Chamber, the Town Hall, Chipping Norton, when the following members were present:-

1.    Apologies for absence
Apologies for absence had been received from Cllrs Mrs J Graves, M Jarratt and
D Davidson.
2.    The Minutes of the last meeting held on 1st October 2012
The minutes of the meeting held on 1st October 2012 were confirmed and signed by
the Mayor.
3.  Grants to Voluntary Bodies
The meeting resolved to award grants totalling £12,325 to Voluntary Bodies that had made applications in accordance with the Council’s advertisement – closing date for applications 02/09/13.

In accordance with delegated authority given by Council on 18th November 1985
(Minute 1604), the Committee resolved that in accordance with its powers under Section 137 Local Government Act 1972, Council should incur the following expenditure:

Attached sheet shows awards of grants.

The Lions grant was a one off grant due to the Town Council agreeing to help purchase a defibrillator for the town.

The Swifts grant was awarded and a proviso was added that they must secure their perimeter.

The Volunteer Link Up grant was awarded solely for Chipping Norton residents.

The Green Gym were to be asked to weed throughout the town as part of their programme.

The committee decided not to award grants to Chipping Norton Buildings Record and Chipping Norton RUFC this time.

There was no other business to discuss.

The meeting closed at 8.28 pm.
